Supporting public authorities, infrastructure owners, and operators from early strategy to system delivery and operational excellence.
With deep public-sector roots and global experience, we offer independent, implementation-focused advice - helping shape sustainable, reliable rail and transit systems that deliver real-world impact.
We provide advisory to some of the most ambitious and transformative digital railway initiatives across Europe and the Americas - guiding programme management, strategic planning, and the implementation of advanced signalling systems.
With deep expertise in ETCS and CBTC deployment, our work spans large-scale deliveries and complex upgrade environments - from metro networks to national mainlines. We’ve been integral to helping public agencies, operators, and delivery partners navigate complexity, manage risk, and drive results.
We don’t just support delivery - we help shape and optimise the future of mobility and infrastructure networks. Explore a selection of our work below.
Advisory Cases

Our team contributes with technical expertise and oversight, ensuring system-wide consistency and alignment across complex workstreams.
We help MTA's Construction & Development (C&D) accelerating the CBTC program across the entire NYCT network by supporting strategic planning and organizational readiness, strengthening the CBTC technology expertise, continuing to lead the updates of the MTA CBTC interoperability specifications, and safety management.

The work supports strategic scoping, procurement support, and delivery planning for the fully automated metro.

Our role was to provide an impartial assessment of the target organisation’s technological capabilities, product landscape, and future readiness - enabling a well-informed understanding of value and risk.
We reviewed the company’s technology roadmap, product maturity, organisational setup, and approach to safety and certification. In addition, we identified key technical and operational risks, quantified potential hidden costs, and outlined critical capability gaps to be addressed post-transaction to unlock the full investment potential.

Our findings supported key decision points and helped validate the programme’s technical and operational path forward.

Nordic Signals' CEO, Thilde Restofte Pedersen, was appointed expert representative in the Expert Committee providing expertise specifically with implementation and management of technological programmes in a complex context, as well as in the field of supplier management.

We provided project management services for the upcoming CBTC procurements, strategic advice for long term CBTC planning and lead key tasks for enabling the MTA CBTC strategy such as various procurement support, including the equipment of work trains with CBTC and the CBTC radio based on 5G.

Irish Rail is the operator and infrastructure manager of the national railway network in Ireland.
Drawing upon her programme management and strategic advisory expertise, Thilde helps further the strategic direction of the Irish rail network.

We provide high-level technical and strategic advisory for the Grand Paris Express project (200 km of green field driverless metro construction) as a member of the Systems Experts Committee advising the board of the customer La Société des Grands Projets.
We also advise stakeholders for the deployment of NExTEO over the suburban RER-network. NExTEO is the first CBTC-system deployed over the French mainline infrastructure to address performance and regularity issues on the busiest lines of the Paris region.

This includes support to technology suppliers developing new train control products and clients evaluating disruptive solutions for integration into their future networks.

The Danish infrastructure manager, Banedanmark, implements the systems on both the mainline railway (ERTMS) and the Copenhagen suburban S-Bane (CBTC), totalling more than 2,600 kilometers.
Nordic Signals has been at the heart of the programme management of both the CBTC and ERTMS deployment, as well as the onboard fitment of trains.

This is especially critical, as the lines of the Copenhagen metro network is facing obsolescence issues and needs to increase capacity due to rising passenger traffic demands.

The Impartiality Committee is established to ensure impartiality of RTV-DK by providing independent oversight of RTV's activities.

Our role included contract supervision, integration planning, and review of deliverables, ensuring alignment with ETCS and operational systems.
